Besonders Welpen großwüchsiger Rassen zeigen überdurchschnittlich oft orthopädische Skelettfehlstellungen. In der Entwicklung dieser Wachstumsstörungen kann neben einer genetischen Komponente und körperlichen Fehlbelastung auch eine nicht bedarfsgerechte Fütterung ein entscheidender Einflussfaktor sein.
