Abstract
This review updates the previous Science of Synthesis contributions on the synthesis of 1-iodo-n-heteroatom-functionalized alkanes (n ≥2) that are formed by addition across C—O (Section 35.3.5.2), C—N (Section 35.3.5.3), C—S (Section 35.3.5.4), or C—C bonds (Section 35.3.5.5). Methods reported between 2007 and 2023 are described, with a focus on the ring opening of three- or four-membered cyclic systems.
