Summary

Cellulite, which describes the dimpling of the skin that mainly affects the buttocks and posterior thighs of women, affects over 80% of women, but it can negatively impact their quality of life. For this reason, considerable effort has been spent over the years understanding its pathophysiology and establishing effective treatment options. Although innumerable treatment options have been proposed and tested throughout the years, it was only recently that several have emerged that produce durable and reliable results. This chapter will explore these treatment options and will also briefly touch on other methods to improve the overall appearance of the buttocks and posterolateral thighs.
