Zusammenfassung
Die vorliegende Einzelfallstudie beschreibt die Bedeutung der im Maitland-Konzept vorkommenden funktionellen Demonstration. Es konnte gezeigt werden, dass beim klinischen Bild der medialen Epikondylopathie die Schulter als beitragender Faktor zu sehen ist, was bereits in der 1. Untersuchung durch funktionelle Bewegungsanalyse erkennbar war. Bei der Untersuchung des geraden Fauststoßes eines Kickboxers ließ sich eindeutig feststellen, dass eine Protraktion der Schulter Symptome im medialen Bereich des Ellenbogens auslöste.
Abstract
This single case study describes the importance of the functional demonstration in Maitland’s concept. It could be shown that the shoulder is a contributing factor to the clinical manifestation of medial epicondylopathy. Functional movement indicated this early during the initial examination. The examination of a kick boxer’s frontal jab revealed explicitly that shoulder protraction produced symptoms on the medial side of the elbow.
